HOME ECONOMICS (HE) Strand

BREAD AND PASTRY PRODUCTION NC II (BPP) 

Bread and Pastry Production course leads to National Certificate Level II (NC II). This course is designed for high school student to develop knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform the tasks on Bread and Pastry Production. It covers core competencies namely: 

1) prepare and produce bakery products; 

2) prepare and produce pastry products; 

3) prepare and present gateau, tortes and cakes; 

4) prepare and display petit fours and

 5) present deserts. 

CAREGIVING NC II (CG)

Caregiving is one of specialization in the Home Economics Strand that belongs to Technical Vocational and Livelihood Track. This course is designed to develop students knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform the tasks on Caregiving. It covers core competencies namely: 

(1) providing care and support to infants and toddlers; 

(2) providing care and support to children;

(3) fostering social, intellectual, creative, emotional;

(4) foster physical development of children. 

(5) providing care and support to elderly; 

(6) providing care and support to people with special needs; 

(7) maintaining healthy and safe environment; and 

(8) responding to emergency

COOKERY NC II                                          

Cookery leads to National Certificate Level II (NCII). This course is designed for a high school student to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes in the performance of Cookery tasks. It covers core competencies, namely: 

(1) cleaning and maintaining kitchen premises, 

(2) preparing appetizers,

(3) preparing salads and dressings, 

(4) preparing sandwiches, 

(5) preparing desserts, and 

(6) packaging prepared foods.

FOOD AND BEVERAGE SERVICES NC II 

Food and Beverage Services leads to National Certificate Level II (NC II).This course is designed for a high school student to develop knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform the tasks required. It covers the core competencies of 

(1) prepare dining room/restaurant area for service; 

(2) welcome guests and take

food and beverage orders; 

(3) promote food and beverage products; 

(4) provide food and beverage services to guest; 

(5) provide room service; and 

(6) receive and handle guest concerns. 

Front Office Services NC II 

Front Office Services leads to National Certificate Level II (NC II). This course is designed for a high school student to develop knowledge, skills, and attitudes to perform the tasks on Front Office Services. It covers core competencies, namely: 

1) receiving and processing reservation, 

2) operating a computerized reservation system, 

3) providing accommodation reception services, 

4) conducting night audit, 

5) providing club reception services, and 6) providing porter services 

The preliminaries of this course include the following: 

1) discussion of the relevance of the course, 

2) explanation of key concepts relative to the course, and

3) exploration of career opportunities. 

LOCAL GUIDING SERVICES NC II

Local Guiding Services leads to National Certificate Level II (NCII). This course is designed for a high school student to develop knowledge, skills

and attitude to perform the tasks on Tour Guiding Services. It covers core competencies namely; 

1) research information relevant to tour itinerary; 

2) managing tour arrangements for visitors; and

 3) accompanying visitors in accordance with the tour itinerary. 


It also includes provision for on-the-job training in Tour Guiding Services.

Travel Services NC II

Travel Services leads to National Certificate Level II (NC II). This course is designed to enhance the knowledge, skills, and attitudes of a high school student in tour servicing that strongly adhere to industry standards. It covers specialized competencies such as: book travel-related reservation, administering billing and settlement plans, and issuing air, sea, and land tickets and multipurpose documents.

ELECTRICAL INSTALLATION AND MAINTENANCE NC II

Electrical Installation and Maintenance National Certificate Level II (NCII). It covers three core competencies that a high school student ought to possess: 

(1) preparing electric and hydraulic tools, 

(2) performing roughing-in and wiring activities for bus and under floor ducts, and 

(3) installing wiring devices for floor and ground fault current interrupting outlets.

information and communication technology (ict) Strand

ANIMATION NC II  

This is a specialization course which leads to an Animation National Certificate Level II (NC II). It covers Personal Entrepreneurial Competencies (PECs); Environment and Market (EM); and one (1) Core Competency that a high school student ought to possess to produce clean-up and in-between drawings. 

Computer Systems Servicing NC II  

This is an introductory course that leads to a Computer Systems Servicing National Certificate Level II (NC II). It covers seven (7) common competencies that a student ought to possess: 

1) application of quality standards,

2) computer operations; 

3) performing mensuration and calculation; 

4) preparation and interpretation of technical drawing; 

5) the use of hand tools; 

6) terminating and connecting electrical wiring and electronics circuits; and 7) testing electronics components; and 

four (4) core competencies, namely, 1) installing and configuring computer systems, 

2.) setting up computer networks, 

3) setting up computer servers, and

 4) maintaining and repairing computer systems and networks. 

TECHNICAL DRAFTING NC II 

This is a specialization course that leads to a Technical Drafting National Certificate Level II (NC II). It covers five (5) core manual drafting competencies that a high school student ought to possess, namely: 

1) architectural layout and details, 

2) structural layout and details, 

3) electrical and electronic layout and details, 

4) sanitary and plumbing layout and details, and 

5) mechanical layout and details. 

COOKERY NC II                                          

Housekeeping leads to National Certificate Level (NC II). This course is designed for a high school student ought to develop knowledge, skills, and attitude to perform the tasks on Housekeeping. It covers five core competencies, namely: 

1) providing housekeeping services; 

2) preparing rooms for guests; 

3) cleaning premises; 

4) providing valet/butler services; 

5) laundry linen and guests clothes; and 

6) deal with/handle intoxicated guests. 

The preliminaries of this specialization course includes the following: 

1) Explain core concepts in housekeeping; 

2) Discuss the relevance of the course 

3) Explore on opportunities for a Room or Cabin Attendant as a career.
